This page gives you more particulars about what is included in this 10 days/nights workshop.
This is an immersion experience into the tranquil beauty of the Val d’Orcia area of Tuscany, Italy.
You will arrive in Florence where you will be met by Lisa, the owner of Lisa’s Gryphon Art and Travel, and we will transport you via a comfortable 9-person van to your home-away-from-home, La Montalla in Contignano.
The date for meeting up is the 2nd of June. HOWEVER, depending on your departure country, you will likely need to DEPART from your airport at least 1 day ahead of the 2nd, in order to arrive on time. It is suggested that you consider departing a couple of days early, due to the amount of tourists, post-COVID, who are now wanting to travel to European destinations. Florence is a beautiful and walkable city and definitely worth a bit of your time.
Arriving before the 2nd of June will give you a chance to perhaps visit the Uffizi Gallery or indulge in a world-class Florentine steak…before meeting up with the group at noon on the second. It also allows for any unexpected airline delays or cancellations that might occur unexpectedly.
Once you have been met at the airport, you will be transported as a group to La Montalla, a beautiful 600-year old agriturismo that has been lovingly maintained by a single family for generations. There you will settle into your room. We will share a welcome glass of Prosecco and after a short meet and greet you’ll have an opportunity to explore the surroundings prior to dinner. You’ll meet our chef, Eufemia , and the owners, Alfonso and his mom, Paola.
After dinner, Roxanne and Lisa will give you an overview of the next 10 days and answer any questions you may have.
The next day, the fun really begins.
There will be formal lessons in the studio space as well as day trips to beautiful and iconic sites. The panoramas will encourage you to remember to have your phone fully charged and ready to shoot unforgettable views, villages and landscapes. Each day there will be a new module to practice and/or a new place to visit.
Early on we will visit a local grocery, so you can lay in any extra food or wine that you may like to have in your room, or any items that you forgot to pack.
We are very conscientious about special dietary requirements and can usually honor most all of them. You will be asked to complete a form before arriving with an area regarding this. Please make sure to return that information in a timely fashion.
